In the new version 8.3 expansion of World of Warcraft Battle for Azeroth we have ten new playable allied races, with more to come. Each allied race has a set of heritage armor available that can be obtained through the same game. In this guide we will focus on the set corresponding to the Vulpera race, to get the Vulpera Heritage Armor.

About the race of the Vulpera

The Vulpera are a nomadic fox race from the Vol’dun desert who have survived the arid and dangerous lands of the region for generations. Although this is not the only region where they will be found, as some Vulpera migrated to Kul Tiras, where they created alliances with other “Mongrel” races. This group became the Bilge Rats, a small pirate clan loyal to Harlan Sweete and the Irontide Raiders.

    More details about the armor

This armor is a cosmetic transmog that will give the appearance of the Heritage Armor set of the Vulpera race to any other previously equipped set. The armor is called the Vulpera Heritage Set. The items that the set contains are:

There is a Tabard that matches the armor set, but is not included in it: the Tabard of the Vulpera. This is obtained once you have created your Vulpera character, by submitting the first quest of the For the Horde series.

    Armor appearance

This set does not leave much to the imagination, with little clothing and light materials it is loaded with accessories and attention to detail. It has one or two clipping problems, but generally speaking, nothing to worry about. The left shoulder however, has a serious clipping problem, at least up to this point in time.

    Vulpera Heritage Armor

This racial set is inspired by the lore of the Vulpera race and can be seen on most NPCs within the Vol’dun area. It is composed of a hood with holes for the Vulpera ears and a cute backpack full of trinkets, referring to the scavenger nature of the race in the desert. The backpack is not a separate item, but is attached to the chest piece. It also has daggers in all possible compartments. This set is very well done and highlights all the details of these fox like humanoids.

What are the requirements to get the Vulpera Heritage Armor

One of the main requirements to obtain the Vulpera Heritage Armor transmog set is to raise your Vulpera race character to the maximum level. In this case, depending on when you have done it, from the Shadowlands launch event to the future it will be level 50, in contrast if you did it before the change of the leveling mechanics, it would be level 120.

Once you have obtained the maximum level of your character, a quest with the name of Heritage of the Vulpera will appear. To turn in this quest you will have to travel to the Vol’dun area. Once there, you will have to find the Vulpera Hideaway in the eastern area, in the center of the map. There, you must speak to Hagashi to receive the quest.

    Heritage of the Vulpera quest

The Horde faction values both your efforts and your race as Vulpera. You are the most “Vulperan” of the Vulpera, and that is why they have prepared a special gift for you, says the mission description.

To deliver it you must talk to Hagashi at the Vulpera hideout. The quest is of the “delivery” type, and once there the dialogue refers to your spirit of adventure, your skills and optimism for exploration, the faction is proud to have you as an ally. After a short dialogue you will receive the Heritage of the Vulpera armor set, together with 20 gold and 40 silver and 7,700 points of experience.

    Vulpera Heritage Armor Quest

Considering how Heritage Armor quests work for all other factions, it is strange that the game developers selected the Vol’dun area for the quest delivery, and not Orgrimmar, which is the starting area for the race. Also something curious is that the Vulpera Heritage Armor is not received from Kiro. Instead it is the inn keeper of a totally random zone who gives you the armor.

There does not appear to be any portal in the Vulpera embassy, so it is convenient to start the Zandalar intro to activate the Vol’dum questline and gain access to the area. In case you don’t want to start the Vol’dum quests through the Zandalar intro you can take a boat from Echo Isles in Durotar. This trip will leave you in the Zuldazar Harbor, from where you must find your way to the Vulpera Hideaway. It will not be difficult to find.

Living in the desert, the Vulpera learned to live with few resources. They developed invaluable and effective techniques of gathering and survival. They live in burrows, travel in caravans, engage in trade and exchange, and use information as a marketable resource. The Vulpera will view any object as a potential renewable instrument. They have had to learn to reuse their resources due to their scarcity.

The Vulpera have lived in harmony over the years with other species such as the Sethrak, the snake people of the Vol’dun area. Though over time the Sethrak became a bit greedy for power and unleashed the C’Thrax Mythrax the Unraveler and used its power to conquer Zandalar. They began to enslave the Vulpera and even sell their children. Not all Sethrak rival the Vulpera, only allies to Faithless Servants.

Some of the reasons you won’t be able to get the Vulpera Heritage Armor.

If for some reason you boosted your allied race character and you do not received the transmog, or you see that your character is already level 50, but you didn’t obtain the Heritage Armor, do not despair. In order to receive the Vulpera Heritage Armor transmog set you must level your character to at least level 50 and complete the Heritage Quest corresponding to the race.

Two of the main reasons why you will not be able to obtain the Vulpera Heritage Armor are: That you have received the character leveling boost service, or that you have requested the armor with some character to which you have applied some faction or race change. Also, if in the past you received the benefit of the Recruit-A-Fiend program while it was in effect, this factor will prevent you to get the armor. Heirlooms and experience potions however will not have any adverse effect and will not affect you at all to get the armor.
