The launch of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is imminent. One of the most important and unusual features of the device is its small screen built into the rear panel, next to the camera lens. Although not much is known yet about the benefits of this mobile, Tech Buff made a leak where he shows a first look.

Everything seems to indicate that the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra will be available in the middle of this year. This model has a Snapdragon 888 SoC processor. The rear panel, one of the most pronounced camera profiles ever seen, has a 120x periscope lens and an LED flash. The most intriguing part of this device is its mini screen to the right of the camera lens. This screen is displayed with an aspect ratio equal to that of the front screen.

What is that little screen for?

There are several theories about the actual function of the small screen. Some say it is to offer a preview while using the rear camera for a high-quality selfie. Other ideas suggest that this screen does not show a visualization of the main panel all the time, but alternates in off states or simply to show notifications.

As there is no promotional material to support these references, it is difficult to know exactly why Xiaomi decided to integrate a screen in that location. The cell phone also has a front camera, so the theory of the selfie preview screen no longer makes so much sense. It comes in black or white.

The camera panel spans the entire width of the unit. This makes it the phone with the highest rear bump of all times.
