The mechanical keyboards realm is still untamed territory for those who are happy with membrane classics. These keyboards are not usually cheap and they can be a bit noisy in daily use, becoming annoying if we work or live with someone having one. However, thousands of users prefer them due to the advantages they offer in gaming, and why not, also because of that aesthetic that is always a badass addition to our gaming setting. Corsair joined the keyboard niche with its Corsair K65 RGB Mini mechanical gaming keyboard.

What is the benefit of using a mechanical keyboard?

If you are new to the world of mechanical keyboards, you should know that along with the different types of switches that determine not only the noise, but also the type of travel that the key will make on each press, an important factor when choosing one is whether you want it full-size or more compact.

The latter are known as 60% keyboards and as you can imagine they take up much less space because the numeric pad is eliminated from the keyboard. It may not be interesting for some users who work with spreadsheets or applications where they must enter numbers frequently. On the other hand gamers love these.

Most games make use of the classic AWSD key combination and the upper number row is where you have access to different menus, weapons or even programmed actions. For this reason and due to the aesthetics, they are ideal and more and more brands are launching their own proposals of these dimensions with the gamer always in mind.

More about the Corsair K65 RGB Mini

The new Corsair K65 RGB Mini chose this format of compact keyboards, being the brand’s first for gaming in such dimensions. It must be said that it is very attractive in terms of the overall design it offers. Additionally they integrated the RGB lighting system, a feature present in most of the gaming keyboards commercially available.

Regarding the switches, the Corsair K65 RGB Mini keyboard makes use of the Cherry MX in three possible variants: Red, Silent and Speed. So everyone can choose the one they think best suits their needs, preferences, gaming style and way of typing.

The company uses a new technology called AXON that, according to Corsair, is capable of registering pulsations with a speed eight times higher than other proposals on the market. This means that thanks to that 8,000 Hz refresh rate, the precision when sending the signal per keystroke increases and could give the most expert players an edge while playing.

For most gamers, the difference is probably imperceptible compared to a membrane one. You just have to be extremely skilled to really notice that change.

If you are into computer video games and are really serious about it you may be interested in this Corsair mechanical keyboard. To put your hands on one of these keyboards the cost will be around $110 USD. It is not a high price if you take into account the price of other similar options. It is not the cheapest either, but at the end of the day we are talking about a very established and prestigious brand within the sector.

Corsair K65 RGB Mini

For most of the people who have tried mechanical keyboards before, this is not a game changer. Although it is a fact it makes the visuals of our gaming setting a lot more pleasant and our gaming experience more enjoyable (at the end of the day that’s all that counts, the fun).
