A new range of console and PC monitors have finally been released for this summer’s best gaming experience. Game to the fullest on one of the new and clearest monitors from ViewSonic. The company’s commitment to visual display hardware is reflected in its recent summer release. ViewSonic has revealed an assortment of 32-inch monitors for high-refresh rates and better gameplay all through summer 2021. All of the Elite Gaming monitor displays offer 144+ refresh rates, 99% color spectrum coverage of the Adobe RGB, and support variable refresh rates or VRRs for short. The Viewsonic elite XG320U comes in three models: a pair of 32-inch 4K models that run at a 144 Hz refresh rate, and a 27-inch 1440p monitor functioning at 240Hz.

The ViewSonic Elite XG320U Shows Off In-Plane Switching and Deep Color

Specifically focusing on the first model, the ViewSonic Elite XG320U has a 32-inch display with a 4K IPS panel running at 144Hz. IPS stands for in-plane switching, a distinct type of clear LED display. IPS panels are known for having the most high-tech viewing angles and deep color selection amongst the Adobe color spectrum. Gamers or professional artists who look forward to experiencing the most pigmented colors in their graphics are often opting for monitors with IPS panels. Throughout the gaming world, IPS panels are characterized as having the most pigmented graphics and broad scope views in comparison to the other main types of display panels, TN (twisted nematic) and VA (vertical alignment). However, IPS panels are also the most expensive of the three.

Viewsonic Elite XG320U

What’s completely innovative is that the ViewSonic Elite XG320U didn’t choose to be like other gaming monitor manufacturers by sacrificing crystal clear graphics for speed, and they instead managed to combine the two. There once was a time that models with IPS panels could only run up to 75 Hz, but new technology has allowed premium monitors to run up to 144 Hz. Next-generation gamers can experience both clarity and speed, creating a superior gaming experience without lag or memory space issues.

The ViewSonic Elite XG320U provides users support for HDMI 2.1, which facilitates high refresh rates for both consoles and PCs. AMD FreeSync Premium Pro compatibility allows ViewSonic’s gaming monitors to deliver uninterrupted, high-quality images. With AMD FreeSync technology, the screen’s display has a quick-response refresh rate that is synchronized with the framerate of FreeSync compatible graphics cards. These create an exceptional user experience by reducing and eliminating visual issues that gamers often complain about, such as input latency, screen tearing, and stuttering graphics during gaming and video playback. The monitor’s LED display supports the 4K 120Hz VVR options on the newest consoles, especially the Xbox Series X/S and the new Playstation 5.

The ViewSonic Elite XG320U Masters Response Time and Motion Movement

The 32-inch ViewSonic Elite XG320U’s sister screen also has an IPS model. Within ViewSonic’s 2021 CES lineup, both the XG320U and XG321UG offer users MPRT response times of 1ms. MPRT stands for moving picture response time or motion picture response time. It initiates a test measuring how long a pixel can be seen on a display screen. The longer a pixel can be seen on the screen, the more a moving image can create a trail without lag-time. For the user to experience enhanced movements that flow without pixel issues, MPRT needs to be incredibly fast. For example, an MPRT with a figure of 5ms means that a pixel stays on the screen for 5ms every time it becomes active on the screen. These days, 5ms is decent for most forms of gaming, but not ideal as it causes blurring. The ViewSonic Elite XG320U has a response time of 1ms, separating a regular monitor from an ultra-quality gaming monitor. Both the XG320U and XG321UG prove that a lot of engineering has gone into both models to prevent pixels from ghosting or blurring.

A 1ms MPRT monitor usually comes from a top-quality brand that focuses on fast-paced gaming, and has a history of mastering motion control and image regulation through years of testing. Optimized panels for gaming are a must for PC and console gaming, which may be why non-gaming monitors do not often advertise MPRT. This is one of the reasons why ViewSonic has deemed the ViewSonic Elite XG320U screen as an “IPS Gaming Monitor”. These screens put older IPS panels to shame with competitive new technology, and offer overall deeper color coverage.

ViewSonic’s Range Expands to the G-Sync XG321UG Model, Exclusively for PC Games

Another gaming monitor option is the last selection in ViewSonic’s range, the XG321UG. This is a G-Sync Ultimate monitor which supports 4K at up to 144Hz refresh rates using DisplayPort 1.4. One of the key differences is that this screen does not support HDMI 2.1, which is due to the monitor’s use of an Nvidia G-Sync module. G-sync Ultimate is the latest Nvidia processor made to give the user an incredible HDR gaming experience. Without HDMI 2.1, this monitor can only be used for PC games, but not consoles. This version does include HDR capabilities, stunning contrast, piercing colors, and ultra-low latency gameplay.

For users who exclusively play PC games, this may be a more affordable choice than the ViewSonic Elite XG320U. ViewSonic does not slack on the quality of any of its monitors. Although a version with fewer features, this screen uses a mini-LED backlight with 1,152 dimmable zones to deliver VESA DisplayHDR 1000 support. It can still be connected to consoles, but note that this will limit the screen from 4K to 60Hz, and can only support HDMI 2.0. It’s possible that 60Hz gaming may lead to lagging, stuttering, and other motion movement issues.

The ViewSonic Elite XG320U qualifies as one of the most leading-edge gaming monitors on the market. The excellent features tick every box for a gaming monitor that can provide swift gameplay, without breaking the bank. Its specs speak for the company’s commitment to hiring gaming-minded designers and engineers who know what users want. The variety of monitors during this release provides a multitude of options for players with different preferences. In every regard, it is a cutting-edge gaming monitor that is a quintessential purchase for active PC and console gamers. As for availability, ViewSonic’s full range of monitors has officially been released for summer 2021.
