The Samsung Galaxy S21 is already a reality. The three new models of this phone are available for pre-order on the Samsung website and will be shipped starting from January 29. As speculated, these devices will be compatible with 5G connectivity. However, there are some other surprises that we weren’t expecting. One of the most exciting news is that the prices would be much more affordable than previously estimated.



The three models launched by Samsung on January 14 were announced on the last day of the CES 2021 convention. These are the long-awaited Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus and the Galaxy S21 Ultra. Additionally, three other innovative products also announced at launch: The Galaxy Buds Pro, The S Pen Pro and the SmartTag tracker. The latter are also available for purchasing online.

Normally each Samsung Galaxy launch is announced each year at the Mobile World Congress in late February. However, the company decided to launch it a month in advance. This year’s MWC will be postponed until June due to the pandemic.

New additions and improvements to the cell phones

The Samsung Galaxy S21 is made entirely of metal, which makes it more durable. It has an adaptive refresh on the screen that goes from 48 to 120Hz. Similarly, its long-awaited trio of cameras and image processing hardware to capture better photos. Additionally, these cell phones will have a better processing unit and hardware system in terms of security. Moreover, depending on the region where we live, we will have the option of the Snapdragon 888 or Exynos 2100 chipset. We will also have the ability to record video in 4K 60fps / 8k 24fps and be able to capture photos while we doing so, simultaneously.

The model Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra would be the only one of the three capable of reaching 1440 x 3200 PXs of resolution while at 120Hz refresh rate. It has two telephoto cameras in addition to the default three. The cameras have a maximum resolution of 108MP, 12MP Ultra-wide and 40MP front camera. Additionally, we will also have 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage initially. Another important aspect of this model is its compatibility with the Samsung S Pen.

We will include the price as an advantage. The Samsung Galaxy S21, Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus and Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra models have a price of $ 799, $ 999 and $ 1,199 USD respectively. A price of more than $ 200 dollars less compared to the prices of its previous presentations the Galaxy S20.

Not so interesting things about the Samsung Galaxy S21

To reach such attractive prices, Samsung had to make some sacrifices. The two lower tier models, the Galaxy S21 and the Galaxy S21 Plus have a top resolution of 1080 x 2400 px. That, accompanied by 6.2 and 6.7-inch AMOLED displays respectively. In this sense, the improvement is its refresh rate reaching 120Hz.

Another thing that caught our attention is the fact that the Samsung Galaxy S21 does not come with a charger or headphones.
This detail may not be a deal breaker, but it is impressive that a mobile with such a high price tag does not have these accessories included. Models of much lower category do include these elements. The downside of this may not be its cost, but the inconvenience of having to buy them separately.

On the other hand, none of the Galaxy S21 models have a micro SD slot. Users who want to free up a bit of space will have to buy alternative cloud storage services.
